Extradural glomus tumor of the thoracic spine: case report and review of the literature

: Glomus tumors are rare lesions that can arise anywhere along the spinal axis. Only 12 cases have been reported. We report a case of patient with glomangioma thoracic spine. Following review previous is discussion glomus tumors, including clinical presentation, diagnosis, and treatment. A single, recent arising from extradural space spine described, followed by literature tumors. Including our case, 13 The mean age at time diagnosis was 44.6 years (range, 22–73 years) male-to-female (M:F) ratio 1.17:1. lesion located in cervical 1 patient, 7 patients, lumbar 4 sacrum patient. All were benign. However, there local recurrence because incomplete removal. There no malignant transformations, metastases, or deaths reported, follow-up 20.09±28.43 months(range, 2–90 months). Spinal rare, preoperative difficult. An overwhelming majority benign cured simple excision. Patients undergoing complete resection an excellent long-term prognosis.
